Weaving Materials

In general, traditional textile weaving materials are similar. Only differences in dialect usage are shown. For example backstrap Loom or “Lau- ete” in Fataluku, “atis” in Tetun, and Te’u in Bunak. The elements made up Atis has its own name based on each ethnolinguistic group. Some have been identified, while others have yet to be identified. This gives all Timorese the option to collaborate on documents. Fataluku, Galolen, Bunak ethnolinguistic group, and some others have been identified by the team of this permanent exhibition.
